Paula Sakey
Executive Director

Paula Sakey joined the Boston Public Library Fund as its Executive Director in June of 2020 to continue to broaden and enhance private philanthropy to help maintain and expand the Library’s free services – millions of circulating books, incredible array of public programs, access to world-class collections, and so much more.
Paula comes to the BPL Fund with 30 years of fundraising and communications experience. She has held leadership roles at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, UMass Amherst and most recently served as Vice President of Advancement for Wentworth Institute of Technology.
Paula’s passion for the mission of the Boston Public Library and public and academic libraries runs deep. Her husband spent years as an academic librarian and her father in law was a pioneering leader in public library direction capping off a fifty year career expanding the public library’s dynamic role in the community as head of the Cambridge, MA public library system.
