Louis Maiuri

Lou Maiuri is the Chairman and Group Chief Executive Officer of AssetMark Financial Holdings. Lou is an accomplished business leader with more than three decades of financial services management experience and a record of success building, transforming and scaling global businesses through strategic and technology excellence.

He has extensive skills leveraging innovation, combined with building and leading high performance team cultures that deliver results along with a long-standing commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

Lou is a direct leader, known for relentless focus on excellence, integrity and collaborating with clients to generate investor returns. He is recognized as a thoughtful advisor and trusted partner with a blend of sharp analytical skills and “street” smarts.

For almost a decade and most recently, he was president, chief operating officer and head of investment services for State Street and served on the executive committee.

In this capacity, Lou was responsible for global investment services and oversaw more than thirty thousand employees across the global financial services firm, utilizing models to manage sales, marketing, client management, product, technology and operations that drove distinct market differentiation and delivered best-in-class client outcomes.

He utilized his passion for innovation and business acumen to drive global revenue growth enhancing technology through detailed implementations & seamless operations.

At State Street he led product management to identify trends, customer needs and competitive markets … enabling enhanced engineering capabilities and generating $7B in revenue out of an overall $11B enterprise.

He was also responsible for technology, including cyber, applications, infrastructure and data centers across global trading with a direct report from the CIO, supporting $2B in technology investments.

Integral to growth by building and delivering strategic business models, he substantiated top-line revenue for franchise clients, expanding revenue in structured products by 10% YOY and influencing $100M in revenue by executing the largest outsourcing mandate in company history.

Lou has served as executive sponsor for our Professional Women’s Network for five years and has been recognized for five consecutive years (2019-2023) by Yahoo Finance’s HERoes, an annual global ranking of business leaders who are driving change to increase gender diversity in the workplace.

In addition, he has led many diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives and was active in State Street’s 10 Actions Against Racism and Inequality – serving as the executive sponsor for Action 1 focused on increasing black and Latino representation.

Lou was named one of Global Custodian magazine’s Legends award in 2023, “30 to Shape the Future of Security Services” in 2021, and one of Boston Business Journal’s 2022 Power 50.

Prior to his appointment as State Street’s chief operating officer in 2019 and president and head of Investment Services in 2022, he led State Street Global Markets, the firm’s research and trading arm.

Previously, Lou was executive vice president and deputy chief executive officer of asset servicing at BNY Mellon, where he was a member of the Operating Committee.

Lou co-founded and served as chief operating officer and chief executive officer of Eagle Investment Systems LLC, fintech company that is now a BNY Mellon subsidiary, and enjoyed roles in the fixed income and equity investments divisions at Fidelity Investments.

Lou began his career at State Street in the early 1990s as a vice president of Technology and is very active with the Esperanza Academy in Lawerence MA.
