J.S. Carley

Carley is an Assistant Director of Planned Giving at Boston University, where he develops and implements giving strategies that celebrate the legacies of passionate donors and expand educational access and equity.
Growing up on Air Force bases in the U.S. and abroad, Carley first fell in love with libraries as spaces for cultivating community and learning, leading to multiple volunteer and internship positions in various special collections. Carley joined the Emerging Leaders and its development committee in 2025 and helped raise over $350,000 to support the Boston Public Library.
He holds a BA in Performance & Museum Studies and an MPA in Nonprofit Management, both from Texas A&M University.
