Hosted by the Emerging Leaders, young Bostonians dedicated to supporting the Boston Public Library’s crucial role in the city, Night in the Stacks is the only chance to visit the Library after dark – join us on October 14!
The Boston Public Library Fund (BPLF) is one of 140 local nonprofits to receive grants through the Cummings Foundation’s $25 Million Grant Program.
Julie Wood recently included the Boston Public Library Fund in her estate plan, and her gift is earmarked to establish the Dr. Julie Wood Children’s Series.
With a generous donation from the PDB Foundation, the Roxbury Branch’s Nutrition Lab is now the Boston Public Library’s hub for culinary literacy.
For National Library Week 2022 the Boston Public Library Fund commissioned the incredible Alondra Bobadilla, Boston’s first ever Youth Poet Laureate, to write and perform a poem about the Boston Public Library.
Program funded through the Lynch Foundation is now available at Adams Street, Roslindale, and Roxbury branches.

NEH Grant revives Community History Projects put on hold due to COVID 19 pandemic.
With $200,000 from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the BPL will make one of America’s oldest traditions of newspaper more accessible to all.
The $175,000 grant supports the creation of a Workforce Development librarian position and the expansion of programming. The program is part of the Library’s overarching theme — Repairing America —
A gift of $25,000 will fund community programming and instrument lending in the branch’s state-of-the art Music Room.
English as a Second Language Classes continue online in 2020… Attendance Doubles!
