Make a Gift of Securities

Did you know that when you donate stock or mutual fund shares you can avoid the tax on the gain while deducting up to 100%* of the value of the contribution? When you give securities, you may earn 2-3x the tax savings vs. donating cash. It’s a win-win for you and the organization you choose to support. And, we’ve made it fast, safe, and easy to do.

The Boston Public Library Fund has partnered with DonateStock.com to enable our supporters to make stock and mutual fund donations in 10 minutes or less through a secure online portal. Click here to visit our DonateStock page to make a gift of stock from your brokerage directly to our account.

Or, if you prefer, call your broker directly with instructions to transfer your security to the Fund’s account on a specific date. Your broker will need the following information to make the transfer:

  • Custodian Name: The Bank of New York Mellon
  • Account Name: Boston Public Library Fund, Inc.
  • Account #: 10020951000
  • DTC: 8275

So remember, charitable giving doesn’t always mean cash. Give smart and save more by putting stock in something that matters.
