Challenge Grant Boost for Teen Technology

The Boston Public Library Fund is proud to announce that it has raised more than $200,000 for Teen Tech programming! In December 2022, the Mabel Louise Riley Foundation created a “challenge” grant for the Fund: raise $150,000 for Teen STEM and the Foundation would release an additional $50,000.

Corporations and Foundations Director Ben Wind got to work, and in just three months, he helped secure $177,500 from like-minded institutional partners: Pegasystems, Inc., MFS Investment Management, Amazon, and two anonymous foundations.

With this support, Boston teens will come together after school and access cutting-edge technology – free of charge – at the Central Library and our 25 branches. They’ll explore, discover, and activate a variety of new technology resources, increasing their STEM literacy and preparing them to succeed in our digital world.
