With a generous donation from the PDB Foundation, the Roxbury Branch’s Nutrition Lab is now the Boston Public Library’s hub for culinary literacy.
For National Library Week 2022 the Boston Public Library Fund commissioned the incredible Alondra Bobadilla, Boston’s first ever Youth Poet Laureate, to write and perform a poem about the Boston Public Library.
Program funded through the Lynch Foundation is now available at Adams Street, Roslindale, and Roxbury branches.

The Yawkey Foundation has generously committed $50,000 to the Boston Public Library Fund for the creation of Peer Navigator programming at the Boston Public Library (BPL). The Yawkey Foundation’s support enables the BPL to augment
IMLS Supports BPL ESL Programs with $50K Grant!
With $200,000 from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the BPL will make one of America’s oldest traditions of newspaper more accessible to all.
The $175,000 grant supports the creation of a Workforce Development librarian position and the expansion of programming. The program is part of the Library’s overarching theme — Repairing America — for 2021. Workforce Development manages
A gift of $25,000 will fund community programming and instrument lending in the branch’s state-of-the art Music Room.
Through the Career Online High School program provided by the Boston Public Library, 21 year old Lacretsha Gates has been able to receive her high school diploma after significant hardship in her life.
The BPL is bridging the digital divide with Home Connectivity Kits, where patrons can “check out the internet” with a laptop, hot spot, and multilingual quick-start guides.
