Summer Reading is here...
…and we need your help! In its commitment to equity and to building the at-home libraries of children and teens, the Boston Public Library will be providing free “forever” books to early readers all the way up to young adults. This summer, youth patrons from Boston Public Schools and beyond can visit their local BPL branch and take home books from the Library’s Summer Reading list… to keep. To achieve this, we need to raise $40,000 to purchase 4,000 board, picture, chapter, and YA books.
Your donation of $10 buys one book — imagine what your gift of $1,000+ can do!

All Together Now at the BPL
This summer, the Boston Public Library — along with libraries across the country — are celebrating the national summer reading theme of All Together Now! With a focus on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics), young patrons of all ages will be exposed to potential career paths, tap into their creativity, and learn to make connections between their reading and the real world.
Thousands of children and teens in the Boston area will participate in programs like Paper Airplane Flight School, Stop Motion Animation, Science in the Garden, Playdough Circuitry and more, keeping them learning and engaged during the out-of-school months. Plus, all BPS students will be encouraged to read from the curated booklists created by BPL staff.
