On our 21st Century Library Tour, you’ll discover how the nation’s first public library is boldly redefining what it means to be a resource for today’s patrons through groundbreaking programs, innovative services, and a world-class collection that continues to inspire, educate, and connect communities across the Commonwealth.
Your tour will conclude with the Commonwealth Shakespeare Company’s Shakespeare at the Library: Worlds of Imagination, a series of site-specific performances throughout the McKim Building. The program celebrates both the brilliance of Shakespeare’s works and the beauty of the Library itself. Performed “pop-up” style, the production unfolds across four iconic spaces and runs approximately one hour.
