Color Your World— Support the Boston Public Library Fund's Youth Summer Reading Initiative
Without summer learning, young readers can lose up to 20% of skills gained during the academic year—a “summer slide” that hits underserved students hardest and leaves them less prepared for fall. By supporting the Youth Summer Reading Program, you help provide engaging activities, hands‑on workshops, and community events that spark curiosity and foster equity.
This year’s theme is Color Our World! Just as coloring brings a blank canvas to life, your support paints students’ imaginations with new worlds, broader perspectives, and the confidence to succeed. Together, we can ensure every child returns to school ready to grow—and that education remains a catalyst for transformation in Boston’s neighborhoods.
